Aircraft Airworthiness Manager
£50,000 - £60,000 on experience + strong benefits package

My client is an Aerospace manufacturer based in the Northern Home Counties.
Reporting to the Technical Director, as an experienced Airworthiness Manager you will have the role of organising and controlling the activities of the Office of Airworthiness which is incorporated under the EASA Part 21 J Design Organisation Approval. You will also act as the prime contact for liaison with EASA itself.
The Airworthiness Manager will have the very rare opportunity to lead in the development and management of the civil certification programme of a new class of aircraft. In addition to this you will also help to support a large customer in the military certification of a vehicle that is currently undergoing its flight test programme.
The Airworthiness Manager will be required to recruit a team of specialist Airworthiness experts to assist with futures projects and programmes.
Main responsibilities: -
-Controlling the activities of the Office of Airworthiness
-Be the point of contact for liaison with EASA or other Airworthiness Authorities
-Negotiating with EASA over the airworthiness requirements that are applicable to the companys products
-Coordinating and manage the preparation and execution of a Type Investigation / certification programme which will include collating the certifying evidence and compliance documents
-Verifying that all certification requirements are met and that that equivalent safety cases are made
-Overseeing the safety of the design and the preparation of safety and hazard analysis
-Monitor all aspects related to the ongoing airworthiness of the company products
-Coordinate the evaluation of incidents/failures and the implications they may have on airworthiness
Background required: -
-Ideally a degree in aeronautical engineering
-Knowledge of aircraft design, certification codes, liaising with airworthiness bodies, presenting technical data internally and externally
-Aerospace industry background involved with aircraft modifications or supplementary certification (not component manufacture)
-Knowledge / experience of EASA DOA, possibly as an approved signatory, would be beneficial.
-Competent in use of Microsoft Office
-Full clean driving licence
-Happy to travel for work related issues
-Already hold or be able to obtain security clearance
