£60,000 - £70,000 on experience + benefits package

I am now working with an OEM based in the Northern Home Counties. Through expansion they are now seeking an experienced engineer to oversee all issues propulsion relocated within their organisation including diesel engines, gas turbines and gearboxes.
As Propulsion Systems Manager you will be seen as the senior propulsion engineer within the organisation and will oversee the design, integration / configuration and installation of complex propulsion systems.
You will be expected to provide technical leadership on the design, integration and installation of propulsion systems to the propulsion systems design team and to a small group of key suppliers and manufacturers.
You will have the proven ability to analyse complex propulsion systems, including performance estimation of piston and turbine engines, propellers, cooling, lubrication, control and data systems. This must be in both standalone configurations and when integrated in to an aircraft or a ship or a vehicle.
Main responsibilities: -
-Overseeing the design and development of the propulsion systems for aircrafts and other special projects within the Aerospace sector.
-Ensuring that all applicable design and environmental requirements are complied with and that the product meets the certification requirements set out by the relevant bodies.
-Technical management of the propulsion team including design, manufacture, integration, test and development of maintenance, service, spares strategies
-Assessing the propulsion systems (Engines, Propellers, Gearboxes and all their associated/subsidiary systems) for technical content, quality and safety
-Defining and agreeing test plans and specifications for the propulsion systems
-Provide advice to other departmental teams regarding propulsion system design
Minimum background: -
-An excellent understanding of aircraft / marine / vehicle propulsion systems and/or the principles of power plant engineering
-Background in propulsion system design, manufacture, assembly, integration, installation and testing
-Ideally design experience of prop engine integration through to certification and operation
-Design knowledge of complex propulsion systems including the design of high powered gearboxes, although turbine and piston engine design experience is also preferred
-Experienced with turbo fans, propellers, shafts, diesel piston engines and any supporting structures like systems and fairings
-Hands on knowledge of engine integration and testing
-Knowledge of Microsoft Office / Project and ideally Solid Works
-You will be required to travel extensively with this role so you must hold a full driving license and have the ability to gain Full Security Clearance as well
-The successful candidate will ideally be educated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline
